Dark and Darker Early Access Hotfix #114 Patch Notes (30th April 2026)

Ironmace drops a targeted hotfix to clean up some rough edges at the start of Season 9, with bigger balance changes still to come.

Season 9 only just kicked off, and Ironmace is already patching. Early Access Hotfix #114 is a focused cleanup update, not a sweeping overhaul, and the studio is upfront that balance adjustments will follow in later hotfixes.

The most pressing fix here is the ability to actually claim your EAS8 Adventure Rank rewards, which were blocked before this patch. If you put in the grind last season and couldn't collect, that should now be sorted. Mimic spawns were also broken, which matters more than it sounds in a dungeon crawler where enemy encounters directly affect loot and risk calculations. On the quality-of-life side, the new ping feature introduced this season was missing its keybinding options entirely, so those are now accessible under Options > Inputs > Menu.

Ironmace has also expanded the Demon Overseer's drop pool to include Arming Sword, Falchion, Longsword, and Rapier artifacts, giving high-end players more reason to hunt it. Harvestable wood now stacks up to 2, though the merchant sell price has been halved to compensate. Small stuff, but adds up over a long session. Full patch notes below.

Full Patch Notes

Greetings, Adventurers.

This hotfix is aimed at quickly resolving several issues to ensure a proper start to this season. Other changes, including balance adjustments, will be rolled out gradually through upcoming hotfixes.

This hotfix fixes the ability to claim your EAS8 Adventure Rank rewards, fixes a blocking issue with the Mimic quest, and adds the missing key binding options for the newly introduced ping feature.

We hope you enjoy the new season to the fullest.

As always, thank you and see you in the dungeons!
