Server crashes during high-level purges are probably the worst time for a crash, so the headlining fix in May Hotfix 1.1.1 is a welcome one. Funcom pushed this patch today, and while it's a small update, it hits some annoying pain points.

Beyond the purge crash, the server browser was inflating reported ping times whenever the UI hitched, which could easily mislead players into skipping a perfectly good server. That's fixed now, along with filters not restoring correctly between sessions. Single-player fans also get a fix for Yamatai Lanterns refusing to place, and there's a quiet but important inventory correction: dragging stackable items within the same inventory no longer makes them vanish if you aren't holding shift to split.

The rest of the patch is squarely aimed at modders, covering UTF-8 encoding for modinfo.json, path spacing issues in the modkit, and a handful of editor crashes. Not a flashy update, but the purge crash fix alone makes it one worth installing before your next session. Everything in the update is listed below.

Full Patch Notes

Write modinfo.json with UTF-8 encoding automatically to avoid corrupt mod errors when used in game.

Fixed unquoted paths in cook/pak calls so that mods can be built when the modkit is installed in a path with spaces.
