Company of Heroes 3 Hot Fix 2.5.2 Patch Notes (31st July 2026)
Final Stand progress now syncs across computers via Steam Cloud, while a critical map exploit on Qattara Depression gets sealed and several A.I. Crashes are resolved.

Hot Fix 2.5.2 lands today with a practical quality-of-life fix that addresses one of Final Stand's most frustrating friction points: losing progress when switching machines. The mode's perk data now syncs to Steam Cloud, meaning players can pick up their loadout and progression on any computer without manual workarounds. For base game owners without the Final Stand DLC, mods applied elsewhere will no longer bleed into Final Stand matches, closing a loophole that could affect competitive integrity or intended difficulty.
The patch also seals a significant map vulnerability on Qattara Depression that has been letting enemy units slip out of bounds and become permanently trapped. This is the kind of exploit that derails matches silently. A unit vanishes into the void, and players spend minutes hunting for it before realising it's unreachable. The fix removes the hole entirely, though the notes do not specify whether this affects unit pathing or just closes the physical gap. Base game players should see immediate stability gains here.
A.I. Improvements form the bulk of the technical work. Several crashes tied to A.I. Behaviour and null pointer errors are addressed, which matters most for Final Stand players relying on scripted enemy patterns. Heavy Machine Guns controlled by A.I. Will now correctly prioritise infantry over lane emplacements, a change that shifts how defensive positions play out against the computer. Kettenkrads will no longer idle uselessly on the map, and armored vehicles won't retreat or reissue movement commands when first attacked by non-vehicle units. These are small adjustments, but they tighten A.I. Decision-making in ways that make encounters feel less exploitable.
A notable unlock fix restores Demolish Charge and M6 Anti-Tank mines to US Forces Rifleman, Engineer, and Bazooka squads after upgrading the Demolitions Package from the Infantry Support Centre. This was a functional bug that stripped players of expected tools mid-match, so its restoration matters for build consistency. A visual tinting issue affecting US Paratrooper HMG team helmets also gets corrected.
The new known issue is less encouraging. Enemy bosses on Battlegrounds can now get stuck in out-of-bounds areas, particularly long-range artillery units like the Wespe. Relic acknowledges this requires deeper A.I. Logic work and will need more testing before a proper fix. The workaround. Withdrawing units closer to your HQ to force enemies into range. Is functional but reveals the patch addressed the symptom (map holes) without fully solving the underlying pathfinding problem. This suggests further map adjustments or A.I. Refinement will follow.

Final Stand
- Final Stand Perk save data now shares/uploads to Steam Cloud saves. Players should now be able to change computers and have their Final Stand data transfer with them
- For base Company of Heroes 3 owners, mods applied in other game modes will no longer affect the Final Stand game
- Removed a hole in the soft map edge on Qattara Depression - this was causing enemy units to "enter" the playable area and become trapped in an out-of-bounds region
A.I. & Gameplay
- Fixed several crashes around A.I. behavior and missing null pointers
- Heavy Machine Guns controlled by the A.I. in Final Stand will now prioritize infantry over the lane emplacements
- Fixed an issue with the A.I. idling Kettenkrads on the map
- A.I. armored vehicles will no longer fallback or issue move commands when attacked by non-vehicles on first contact
- Fixed the Demolish Charge and M6 Anti-Tank mines not being unlocked for the US Forces Rifleman, Engineer, and Bazooka squads after upgrading Demolitions Package from the Infantry Support Centre
Art
- Fixed a tinting issue causing US Paratrooper HMG team helmets to appear as a default grey/white texture
New Known Issues
- Enemy bosses may get stuck in the out-of-bounds area of a Battleground. This is more common with long-range artillery bosses such as the Wespe. This will require additional work to adjust A.I. logic and will need more rigorous testing from our team before implementing a fix. While we work to address this, as a workaround we recommend withdrawing your units closer to your HQ to force the enemy to move in-bounds to reach its maximum weapon range.
