Sid Meier's Civilization VII 1.3.2 - Patch 2 - Apr (16th April 2026)

A small but focused patch for Civ VII lands today, fixing a late-game performance issue that's been frustrating players deep into their runs.

Late-game slowdown is one of those issues that quietly poisons an otherwise great run, so the most player-facing fix in 1.3.2 Patch 2 is a welcome one. According to the patch notes, game logic checking for attackable buildings was generating unnecessary calculations that hammered performance in the later ages. If your turns were grinding to a crawl once the map filled up, this should help.

The patch also resolves a crash tied to Next Turn AI processing, which is exactly the kind of bug that makes you question whether to keep playing. Stability fixes this targeted rarely get fanfare, but anyone who's lost progress to a mid-session crash knows how much they matter.

Rounding things out, 2K has added Teen Account support across Civilization VII as part of a wider platform rollout. Players under 18 with a 2K Account will have certain features disabled by default, with the option to adjust permissions through the 2K Portal at portal.2k.com. The studio also teased that a much larger update is currently in the works, which I'm curious about given how much the community still wants addressed.

Full patch notes below.

Full Patch Notes

We’re rolling out a small patch across all platforms today that includes stability improvements and adds support for Teen Accounts.

Note: As part of a wider 2K rollout, Civilization VII has now added support for Teen Accounts. For players who are old enough to create a full 2K Account but are under 18, certain features will be disabled by default to prioritize a safer experience. Players will have full control and can re-enable them anytime through 2K Account settings.

Here’s how to update your account preferences:

  1. Go to portal.2k.com and log into your linked 2K Account.
  2. Once in the 2K Portal, navigate to the game permissions section. There you can select the game(s) you wish to change your settings for.

You can learn more about this change here.
