Black Desert Online Patch Notes (16th April 2026)

217 changes land in today's Black Desert Online update, with the Barter system getting its biggest rework in years courtesy of two new high-value trade tiers.

Today's Black Desert Online update is a hefty one: 217 changes, 1.07 GB, and a Barter overhaul that Pearl Abyss first teased at the Calpheon Ball. If you've been grinding the seas for Silver, this patch is going to change how you think about trade routes.

is Level 6 and Level 7 Barter tiers, connecting major ports across continents and paying out 50 million and 100 million Silver per item respectively. That's a serious ceiling increase, and the Parley cost reductions on existing routes mean you're not getting squeezed harder to access the new stuff. Level 2 trade goods also drop from 800 LT to 400 LT in weight, which should make early sailing far less punishing for newer captains. The fog over Crow's Nest has lifted too, turning it into the new Crow Coin exchange hub after those trades were relocated from Hakoven Island.

This is a meaningful systems update rather than a flashy content drop, and honestly the Barter changes look well-considered. Special Barter Crow Coin payouts have roughly doubled across the board, which suggests Pearl Abyss actually listened to feedback that the rewards weren't worth the effort. Everything in the update is listed below.

Barter Improvements

Today, we are excited to share the Barter update first announced at the Calpheon Ball.

Barter is content where Adventurers generate revenue by trading goods for higher-level, more valuable items. Generally, this involves sailing between islands to complete trades and returning to port once the weight limit is reached.

In this update, we have added Level 6 and Level 7 trade routes connecting the major ports of each continent. While these new routes require traveling between distant continents, they are easier to manage and offer significantly higher revenue than before. To preserve the core experience of planning and navigating your own trade routes, barter goods can no longer be moved via Transport.

We have also addressed several quality-of-life issues encountered during Barter. We hope you enjoy these improvements to the trade experience.

Level 2 Barter Item Weight Reduced

To improve accessibility for rookie captains just starting their journey, we have reduced the weight of low-level trade goods.
  • Reduced the weight of Level 2 Barter goods: 800 LT → 400 LT.
    • This adjustment improves ship loading efficiency when exchanging Level 1 items for Level 2 items.
Barter Goods Price and Weight
Level Selling Price Weight
Level 1 N/A 100 LT
Level 2 N/A 800 LT → 400 LT
Level 3 1,000,000 Silver 900 LT
Level 4 2,000,000 Silver 1,000 LT
Level 5 (Normal) 10,000,000 Silver 1,000 LT
Level 5 (Rare) → [Great Ocean] 25,000,000 Silver 1,000 LT
Level 6 [New] 50,000,000 Silver 2,000 LT
Level 7 [New] 100,000,000 Silver 2,000 LT

Lower Level Barter Item Minimum Exchange Amount Change

As certain trade routes felt like a loss to take when a 1:1 Barter would appear after a refresh while bartering level 1 - 2 items, we have updated so that 1:1 Barters don't occur so that barter items can be acquired more easily.
  • Adjusted the minimum exchange amount for level 1 → level 2 and level 2 → level 3 barters.
    • Before: x1-3
    • After: x2-3

Barter Parley Consumption Changes

With the addition of new trade routes, Barter now requires more Parley. To balance this, we have significantly lowered the Parley required for existing trades and standardized the costs across both trade goods and Crow Coins.
  • Adjusted the Parley cost for certain Barter exchanges.
    • The actual cost may be further reduced by Parley reduction effects.

Barter Interaction Range Increased

  • Increased the distance at which the Barter button appears near Barterers by 20% to improve convenience.

Crow's Nest Fog Removed

Crow's Nest has long been a secret island hidden behind a thick fog. With the opening of new trade routes, the island has finally revealed itself. The bulk Crow Coin exchanges previously located at Hakoven Island have been moved here, and we look forward to many Adventurers visiting this new hub.

  • The fog over Crow's Nest has lifted, and Bartering for Crow Coins is now available.
    • Moved the Crow Coin exchange location from Hakoven Island to Crow's Nest.
  • Added Node Management via Patrigio at Crow's Nest.
  • Changed so you can obtain Crow's Nest geographic knowledge by handing over Balenos Meal x10 to Anax, the Wharf Manager at Crow's Nest.

Crow Coin Exchange Level Changes

  • Changed the required trade items for Crow Coin exchanges.

Find Special Barter Location

Previously, only the node name was displayed when a Special Barter occurred, making it tedious to search the World Map. We have added a button that allows you to find the location with a single selection, providing immediate navigation to your objective.
  • Added a UI feature that shows the location of Special Barter.
    • The button only appears when a Special Barter is active.
    • For Margoria's Star locations, navigation is only provided if the compass effect is active.

Margoria's Star Navigation Improvements

We have addressed issues where ships would get stuck on small objects near Margoria's Star. To ensure smoother sailing, we relocated certain objects.
  • Relocated or removed structures that obstructed movement near Margoria's Star,

Level 6 and Level 7 Trade Routes

As mentioned earlier, new Level 6 and Level 7 trade routes have been added. These routes connect distant continents, and while they require longer travel times, they are easier to manage and offer significantly higher revenue than before.

This update also brings a major change to trade mechanics. Because these new routes span vast distances between continents, we determined that allowing Transport would undermine the challenge of long-distance trading. To preserve the core experience of the adventure, trade goods can no longer be moved via Transport.
  • A free trade agreement has been established across the Black Desert world, opening trade between all continents.
    • Barterers have been dispatched near the ports of each continent and have begun offering trades to Adventurers.
    • Changed the trade goods list in the following regions as new trade routes were added:
      • Lema Island, Iliya Island, Hakoven Island
    • Changed trade goods to be non-transportable via the Transport system.
      • Trade goods that were already transported and traded before the Apr 16, 2026 (Thu) maintenance have been sent to the storage.
    • Added new Level 6 and Level 7 trade goods.
      • More Barter EXP can be gained than before when bartering level 6 and 7 items.

New Additions and Improvements

Altar of Blood Revamp

As announced during the last Calpheon Ball, we have revamped the Altar of Blood, a mode where three Adventurers come together in a party to defend the relic.

With the current maximum AP at 395, we have updated the mode up to the 21st Illusion, and higher Illusions will be added as the maximum available AP increases. Additionally, because there is no AP limit in the Altar of Blood, the higher your AP, the faster you will be able to defeat monsters.

Meanwhile, the required AP for matchmaking into the 21st Illusion is currently set to 400, which cannot yet be reached. This was intended to provide a challenge for Adventurers who wish to overcome the limits of their gear through teamwork, and you will still be able to enter the Illusion by queueing as a pre-made party. Additionally, we are currently preparing a new difficulty for Adventurers who have cleared all levels, which will include new challenge elements.

We hope this unforgiving defense against waves of enemies provides a new challenge and excitement for you.
  • The abyssal rift has reawakened. The Altar of Blood returns, calling for brave Adventurers to protect the sanctum.
    • You can enter the Altar of Blood via solo matching or as a 3-player party. Three Adventurers must cooperate to protect the relic from waves of monsters or defeat powerful bosses.
    • The Altar of Blood consists of 21 stages. You must clear the previous stage to progress to the next.
      • Higher difficulty levels may be added in the future.
    • When entering Altar of Blood as a party, the highest stage your party can challenge is based on the lowest clear record among all party members.
      • For example, if two members have cleared up to Stage 5 and one has cleared up to Stage 3, the party can only enter up to Stage 4 (the next challenge for the Stage 3 member).
    • If you exhaust all 5 attempts provided upon matching, your party will be automatically moved out of the Altar of Blood.
      • There is no weekly limit on entries. You can re-apply for matching and enter again at any time.
    • In addition to weekly rewards, you can obtain a first-time clear reward once per Family for each stage.
    • Clear records do not reset. You can resume your challenge from the highest stage you have previously reached.

* Altar of Blood Guide
The Altar of Blood is divided into normal stages and boss stages.

In normal stages, your main purpose is to defeat monsters rushing toward the central relic.
If monsters reach the relic, its HP will decrease. If the relic's HP reaches 0%, the stage will fail.

In boss stages, a specific boss appears. Your goal is to defeat the boss while completing specific mechanics.
Bosses enter berserk form 6 minutes after appearing, significantly increasing their AP and DP.
If the boss is not defeated within 8 minutes of appearing, the stage will fail.

  • The Altar of Blood consists of 21 stages, from The 1st Illusion to The 21st Illusion.
    • For solo matching, you must meet the minimum AP and DP requirements for each stage.
    • If matching as a 3-player party, you can enter even if you do not meet the minimum requirements.
    • The requirements for each stage are as follows (Higher stages may be added later):
Stage Category Min. AP (Displayed AP) Min. DP (Displayed DP)
1 Normal 300 390
2 Normal 305 390
3 Boss 310 400

  • How to participate in the Altar of Blood:
    • Go to Menu (ESC) - War (F7) - Find Match in the Altar of Blood menu.
      • If you apply as a 3-player party, you will enter with your party members. If you apply solo, you will be matched with other Adventurers.
      • The Party Leader may change based on the order of entry.
* Altar of Blood Rules
Upon entry, the Party Leader selects the stage.
Once the Party Leader selects a stage and presses Start Game, that stage begins immediately.
Resurrection is unavailable if you die (Witch/Wizard Resurrection skills and Medical Kits cannot be used).
All characters resurrect and recover HP upon completing or failing a stage.
If all three party members die, the stage fails. All monsters will disappear, and members will revive with full HP. The stage selection UI will then appear.
Campsites, Maid/Butler, World Map, Quests UI, and Minimap UI are unavailable.
Combat and Skill EXP cannot be obtained from defeating monsters.
Item Drop Rate and Item Drop Amount effects do not apply.
If combat does not start or there is no progression for 10 min after entry, you will be automatically removed from the altar.

  • Clearing stages in the Altar of Blood grants weekly rewards and first-time clear rewards.
    • Weekly Rewards
      • Based on your weekly records, rewards are sent to the Black Spirit's Safe every Sunday at 00:00 (Once a week per Family).
      • Rewards are available for each stage, but you will only receive the reward for the highest stage cleared during that week.
        • Example: Even if you clear Stages 10, 15, and 20 in the same week, rewards do not stack. You will only receive the Stage 20 weekly reward.
    • First Clear Rewards
      • When you clear each stage for the first time, rewards are automatically sent to Black Spirit's Safe (B).
    •  Higher stages offer better rewards, with more item types, larger quantities, and higher chances.
