Apex Legends: Latest Update Patch Notes (10th April 2026)

The Hemlok gets pulled back into line, reactive skins stop misbehaving, and a niche but annoying Wraith bug gets squashed.

Apex Legends' April 10 update is a small but pointed one, and the Hemlok is the headline.

Respawn's own dev note describes the gun's recoil as having been "smooth as butter" since the last round of changes, and the data backed that up. This patch increases both horizontal and vertical recoil and tightens the hipfire spread, which means the Hemlok is going to feel noticeably less forgiving at range and in close-quarters spray situations. It's not a full gutting, but if you've been leaning on it since the previous buff, your muscle memory is going to need a recalibration.

On the bug fix side, reactive skins are now working correctly in and outside the firing range, and a genuinely annoying interaction has been patched out: Wraith, while phased, could previously be stunned by Gibraltar's electrified dome. That's the kind of thing that feels deeply wrong the moment it happens to you, so credit where it's due for getting it addressed quickly.

Full patch notes below.

Full Patch Notes

Hi all, we just pushed an update to address the following:

FIXED:

  • Reactive skins will now work as intended in and outside of the firing range
  • Wraith, while phased, will no longer be stunned by Gibraltar's electrified dome

We have also made some changes to the Hemlok based on data and community feedback since our last round of changes to the Hemlok.

ADJUSTED:

  • Increased horizontal and vertical recoil
  • Increased hipfire spread

DEV TIDBIT:

The Hemlok's recoil was a little too smooth ("smooth as butter", as we've been calling it), and its hipfire was overperforming. These changes should help provide some more spread to make those shots harder to hit. Thank you for your continued feedback!
