'83 - Quality-of-Life Patch #6 Notes (7th July 2026)

The sixth quality-of-life patch for '83 addresses animation bugs, adds new admin commands, and fixes several map collision issues across Fulda and Woodpecker.

Quality-of-Life Patch #6 for '83 is now live, bringing a focused set of fixes that should smooth out some friction points in both animation and server administration. The patch tackles a persistent keyboard control bug that was disabling chat and scoreboard access after opening text chat in the spawn menu or while spectating. A fix that restores functionality without introducing new headaches.

On the animation side, the Makarov, M203, and M60 all receive corrections: the M60 gets a complete mesh overhaul and refactored first-person animations to stop bullets floating visibly in your view, while the M203's reload animation is fixed for the grenade launcher. Map-side improvements target collision issues on Fulda and Woodpecker, including a stuck-in-logs problem and removed VHS branding from the Church camera.

Server admins gain a new RCON command to display live match state, player counts, and map rotation details, with improved visibility for admin messages now rendered in yellow. Gameplay tweaks include a suicide penalty system, corrected contest scoring for inactive objectives, and spawn adjustments on As-Fjord Siege for high player counts. Animation

  • Makarov 1P Weapon Shoot Anim IK movement Fix

  • M60 New Mesh and refactored 1P Weapon Anims (fixed the bullets being visible in view)

Art

  • Fix for some intersecting objects on Fulda
  • Fix for player getting stuck in Logs collision - woodpecker
  • Removed 'VHS' logo from camera in Church on Fulda
  • Fix for Intersecting geo bugs in Woodpecker

Code

  • Added RCON command for server admins to show game state, which includes info about the current match, player counts and reinforcements, current map and map rotation, and the next map.
  • Improved visibility of admin messages sent via sendMessage RCON command by making them yellow. Previously the messages were white.
  • Keyboard controls will no longer get disabled after opening text chat once while in the spawn menu or spectating. Previously this bug would disable opening the text chat again as well as viewing the scoreboard and the overhead map, among other controls. This does cause look input to be accepted in the background if the player toggles the chat while dead, but that's a less severe issue.
  • Added penalty for suiciding (respawn and team-switch suicides are exempt)
  • Fixed contest score being given for inactive objectives
  • Fixed dead grenade kills resulting in false suicides, if a casualty is on the same team as owner's killer, credit the owner.
  • Improved error messaging for cases where the player attempts to join a server, but the connection is rejected because the match is over, the server is full, or the player has been kicked (session-banned) or permanently banned from the server. Previously all of these would display a generic "a network error occurred" message to the player, now a better description of what happened is shown if the error text is available.
  • Added objective cap/defend bonus that depends on number of teammates and squadmates in objective
  • "NEEDS AMMO" prompt visibility now correctly tied to the player name visibility (so it no longer stays visible across the map)
  • Fixed 3P weapons not hiding when starting to climb a ladder
  • Players that are low on primary ammo now display text stating as much above their heads, to let friendly players know that they can resupply them (MG) or share ammo if possible. This indicator will not appear if the viewing player is unable to resupply them, either because their equipped weapon does not share the same ammo type, or because they do not have any spare MG ammo belts.
  • Adjusted the RPK-74 to now receive two magazines when resupplied by another player, instead of just one
  • hides 3p lower body of tank players when they are unbuttoned (no more Flintstones tanks)

Design

  • Re-ranged M60 LMG
  • Physical materials pass for props and other materials
  • Re-ranged PKM
  • Add new damage type for WP explosions, apply 0 damage to tanks
  • fix incorrect phys materials on objects and buildings in woodpecker map

Level Design

- Spawn point on harbour for high player counts has been adjusted and so have the no fire volume.
