In a thrilling update for gaming enthusiasts and Disney aficionados alike, the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase recently revealed that Epic Mickey: Rebrushed"is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch this year. This announcement comes from THQ Nordic, the game's publisher, who has promised a slew of enhancements including superior graphics and additional new features to the beloved title.

Originally launched in 2010 exclusively for the Wii, Epic Mickey offered players a unique, slightly darker narrative within the Mickey Mouse universe, under the creative direction of Warren Spector, famed for his work on Deus Ex. The game's storyline takes players on a journey with Mickey Mouse to Wasteland, a realm inhabited by forgotten Disney characters, and notably marks the return of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to the Disney fold.
The remake, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, is not just a visual upgrade but also introduces a revamped set of abilities for Mickey, enriching the gameplay experience. It aims to captivate both fans of the original game and newcomers with its vibrant adventure through Wasteland, inspired by classic Disney tales.
Moreover, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is set to broaden its horizon beyond the Nintendo Switch, with launches also planned for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2024. This expansion ensures that a wider audience will have the opportunity to experience Mickey's epic journey.
While the original Epic Mickey was a Nintendo exclusive, its sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, was available across multiple platforms, including Wii, Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Vita. This move by THQ Nordic to release the remake across various platforms follows in the footsteps of making the franchise more accessible to a broader audience.
