Ubisoft's XDefiant, despite facing some initial challenges like hit registration issues and netcode problems, has made a remarkable entry into the gaming world. The free-to-play shooter has garnered significant attention, with over 7.6 million players joining the fray in just its first week of release.

Initially reported to have attracted three million unique players within two days of its launch, XDefiant's player base has continued to grow rapidly. Insider Gaming recently revealed that the game is on track to surpass the eight million player mark by the end of today, surpassing the internal target of five million unique players in the first month.

It's important to note that the term "unique players" refers to individuals who have downloaded and opened the game, not just active participants. Despite some early setbacks, XDefiant managed to achieve an impressive milestone of 700,000 concurrent players on May 27th across all supported platforms.

XDefiant is currently available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, offering players a diverse gaming experience across different platforms. Ubisoft San Francisco has reassured the community that they are actively working on addressing any issues to ensure the game's longevity and success in the long run.

Players can look forward to upcoming updates and additions to XDefiant, including new maps, weapons, and the introduction of a new faction. The development team's commitment to supporting the game for an extended period indicates a promising future for this evolving shooter.
