Twitter user Kurakasis has dropped a bombshell hinting at an upcoming announcement from Take-Two regarding a new Mafia series installment. The gaming community is buzzing with anticipation, eager to see what's in store for this beloved franchise.

Kurakasis has a track record of discovering early game information, particularly through trademark filings. Their recent revelation about a potential Mafia game trademark filing has set the rumor mill in motion, hinting at a possible announcement on the horizon. This development aligns with previous findings by Kurakasis, who unearthed details about games like Metro Awakening, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, and Marvel’s 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Speculations intensified after a job listing last year teased the next Mafia game as an 'unannounced multi-platform game currently in pre-production using Unreal Engine 5.' Although the game is reportedly in its early stages, the mention of 'pre-production' indicates that it might be a few years away from release. However, the potential announcement could shed light on the game's name and setting, providing eager fans with more details.

According to insider reports, the upcoming Mafia installment promises to elevate the gameplay experience with 'engagement stealth and combat gameplay loops.' This evolution from the previous title's mechanics suggests a more diverse and immersive gameplay experience, drawing players deeper into the world of organized crime.

Kotaku reported in May 2022 that the new Mafia game could be a prequel set in Sicily, the historic heart of the mafia. Players might explore the roots of the criminal underworld in a narrative set before the events of the first Mafia game, offering a fresh perspective on the series' lore.
