Open world towers have been a staple of Ubisoft's open-world games for years, but the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws game is set to break that tradition. Developed by Massive Entertainment, known for The Division, Star Wars Outlaws will be the first fully open world Star Wars game without any towers to climb.
In a recent communication with Game Informer's Brian Shea, creative director Julian Gerighty confirmed that players will not have to climb towers to unlock the map or clear the fog of war in Star Wars Outlaws. Instead, exploration will be the key to uncovering new areas and activities.
From what I understand, it’s just through exploration. Like, as you explore, the fog dissipates where you go.

Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled for release on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. If you're looking to get early access or additional content, you can check out the Gold and Ultimate Editions. The Season Pass will also offer two DLC packs with new stories, quests, and areas.
With Star Wars Outlaws taking a fresh approach to open world gaming, it's clear that Massive Entertainment is focused on delivering a unique experience for Star Wars fans and gamers alike. Say goodbye to climbing towers and hello to a more immersive exploration-driven gameplay in the galaxy far, far away.
