Indie game developer Radical Forge is implementing a small-scale layoff, as initially reported by Games Industry.biz. The staff reductions, which were indicated to have impacted six personnel, were shared via Twitter by a former junior tech designer at Radical Forge, Louis Escudié. Even as he expressed gratitude to his colleagues, he alluded to the recent critique by the IWGB on Rockstar's reintroduction to office mandate.

In a subsequent official announcement, Radical Forge confirmed that the restructuring would not impede the progress of ongoing projects. The studio also pledged to provide necessary support to the affected parties with transitioning to new roles. With the recent string of layoffs in the gaming industry, it’s hoped that Radical Forge will honor its commitment to its laid off employees.

In fact, this wave of layoffs has seen Supermassive Games downsize up to 30% of its workforce, joining Electronic Arts, which plans to lay off 5%, equating to approximately 700 individuals.

Notable for co-developing popular games like Gang Beasts, Sea of Thieves, and Zombie Army 4, Radical Forge has a promising lineup, including the continuation of Zombie Army series with Zombie Army VR releasing this year. Moreover, the studio has had its share of success with original titles like the whimsical farming indie game Southfield and feline-inspired puzzler Bright Paw.
