As the gaming community was up in arms over the anticipated account linking update for Helldivers 2, PlayStation has officially declared that the change will not be implemented on PC. This move comes after a wave of backlash from players who were concerned about being forced to create a PSN account to continue playing the game.

In a recent tweet, PlayStation acknowledged the feedback from the community and announced the cancellation of the update that would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for both new and existing players. This decision was made in response to the vocal concerns raised by gamers who were unhappy with the proposed changes.

PlayStation's message to Helldivers fans highlighted the importance of player feedback in shaping the future of the game. The company expressed gratitude for the continued support of Helldivers 2 and assured players that their input was invaluable in determining the best course of action for PC players.

Despite the initial success of Helldivers 2 following its release in February, the game has faced a significant setback with over 100,000 negative reviews on Steam. The recent review rating of 'Overwhelmingly Negative' reflects the discontent among players, underscoring the challenges faced by the development team.
