The highly anticipated release of FromSoftware's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion sees Elden Ring's player base skyrocket. According to recent analytics from the dedicated player-tracking portal, SteamDB, the popularity of Elden Ring has notably peaked on the Valve platform during the 24 hours post-trailer release, welcoming an influx of 112,406 players.

Just prior to the captivating Shadow of the Erdtree trailer debut on February 21, the player count was a mere 45,866. Quick to react, the gaming community boosted the numbers to 108,636 on the following weekend, and it's been an upward trajectory ever since. This surge in popularity isn't just limited to one platform, however. Marking a significant jump, Elden Ring now sits proudly at the 21st spot on Xbox's most-played games list, a substantial leap from its previous 36th-place position.

Set for release on June 21, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion promises to introduce a breadth of fresh gameplay elements to Elden Ring's immersive universe, including formidable bosses, extravagant abilities, and a host of other secret details disclosed in the recent trailer. It's touted as the largest expansion from FromSoftware thus far.
