Pieces Interactive Layoffs After Alone in the Dark Launch

Just a month after the launch of the highly anticipated game Alone in the Dark, developer Pieces Interactive is unfortunately facing layoffs. The exact number of employees being let go is still unknown, but the news has already started spreading online.

One of the affected employees, QA Analyst Helena Hansen, shared her feelings on Twitter, stating, "I'm getting laid off. I'll make a better post with my links and all that once the feelings have settled, but ugh. My heart is breaking for myself and my coworkers right now." You can view her tweet here.

Pieces Interactive is under the ownership of Embracer Group, which recently announced its plans to split into three separate companies. This restructuring may have played a role in the decision to downsize the workforce at Pieces Interactive.

It's always disheartening to hear about people losing their jobs, especially in the passionate and competitive world of game development. We hope that those affected by these layoffs will find new opportunities and continue to pursue their love for creating engaging and immersive gaming experiences.
