Exciting news for Escape from Tarkov fans as Battlestate Games rolls out a new update introducing snow back into the game along with a thrilling event called 'Maslenitsa'. However, players are in for a challenging surprise with the appearance of a mysterious, invincible boss roaming the maps. After encountering this boss, players must prepare to face the consequences as he is ruthless and unbeatable, reminiscent of Zryachiy's infamous brother.

The latest event in Tarkov is centered around 'Maslenitsa', a Slavic holiday also known as 'pancake week'. During Maslenitsa, people partake in burning or drowning effigies symbolizing winter to welcome the arrival of spring. In the game, this festival is represented by lighting bonfires across every map using tracer rounds, setting the stage for an engaging gameplay experience.

Players will be tasked with three new quests as part of the event. 'The Spring Never Changes' is a global challenge where players need to collectively ignite one million bonfires. 'The Evil Spirits' requires players to eliminate a new faction member known as a 'Follower of Morana', a formidable adversary masked in an icy aesthetic. Lastly, 'The Granny's Tales' pushes players to take down fifty of these enemies, which are more challenging than typical Scavs and can inflict 'frostbite' effects if approached too closely.

While players engage in these quests and battles, they have the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards and a substantial amount of XP. However, the catch is that they must navigate through the snowy terrain, as the winter setting has made a return for a limited time. The crunch of the snow underfoot and the blinding brightness add an extra layer of intensity to the gameplay.
