2K’s long-dormant tennis sim series is making a comeback with TopSpin 2K25, set to release on April 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. From the roster of playable pros to the modes and venues on offer, this installment is shaping up to be a full-featured return to the limelight for the franchise.

However, there will be some exceptions at launch, one of them being the absence of online doubles matches. In a recent interview with Wccftech, game director Remi Ercolani confirmed this limitation but reassured players that post-launch updates will aim to introduce more options, potentially including online doubles in the future.

"Each mode will have its own specificities and unique features to keep players motivated to return and play daily, and all ranked modes will have leaderboards for fans to keep an eye on the competition." - Remi Ercolani

Additionally, it has been confirmed that TopSpin 2K25 will run at 60 frames per second during gameplay in both offline and online modes on all platforms, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience for players.

As the release date approaches, anticipation is building among tennis and gaming enthusiasts alike for the return of TopSpin 2K25. While the absence of online doubles at launch may be a downside for some, the promise of post-launch support and updates gives hope for a robust and engaging experience for players.
