Facepunch Studios has recently revealed that a takedown request from Nintendo has led to the removal of two decades' worth of Nintendo-themed content from the Steam Workshop on Garry's Mod. This unprecedented move by Nintendo has caused shockwaves throughout the gaming community.

According to a post on Steam by Facepunch Studios, the direct takedown request from Nintendo demanded the removal of all content related to Nintendo and its games from Garry's Mod. As a result, players and creators have been urged to assist in the removal process to comply with Nintendo's wishes.

Facepunch Studios acknowledged the validity of Nintendo's request, stating that it is Nintendo's prerogative to protect its intellectual property. While some may question why Nintendo took so long to address this issue, the fact remains that Nintendo has the right to control the use of its content within third-party games like Garry's Mod.

As Garry's Mod is known for its extensive customization options through the Steam Workshop, the removal of Nintendo-themed content will undoubtedly impact the game's community. Players who have created or used Nintendo-related mods are encouraged to delete them voluntarily to support Facepunch Studios in complying with Nintendo's request.

This process of elimination will take time due to the vast number of uploads spanning two decades. Nevertheless, it is essential for the Garry's Mod community to respect Nintendo's intellectual property rights and cooperate in the content removal process.
