Exciting news for fans of The Legend of Zelda series as director Wes Ball has shared his vision for the upcoming Nintendo adaptation in a recent interview with Total Film (via GamesRadar). Ball expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "I've been thinking about it for a long freakin' time, of how cool a Zelda movie would be... I want to fulfill people's greatest desires."

He emphasized the importance of the Zelda franchise to fans and expressed his desire to create a serious movie that can provide viewers with an escape. Ball mentioned in the interview, "I want to try to create - it's got to feel like something real. Something serious and cool, but fun and whimsical."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ball spoke about how he draws inspiration for the movie from the work of Studio Ghibli co-founder and Spirited Away director Hayao Miyazaki, aiming to capture the wonder and whimsy that Miyazaki brings to his projects. He envisions The Legend of Zelda film as an "awesome fantasy-adventure movie that isn't like Lord of the Rings, it's its own thing."

The upcoming movie, co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment, will be co-produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions. Shigeru Miyamoto, representative director and fellow of Nintendo, and veteran Hollywood producer Avi Arad are on board as producers for the highly anticipated adaptation.

With Wes Ball's passion and creative vision, fans can look forward to a unique and captivating adaptation of The Legend of Zelda that stays true to the beloved franchise while bringing a fresh perspective to the big screen.
