Exciting news for Final Fantasy fans as the director of Final Fantasy 14, Naoki Yoshida, has hinted at the presence of multiple references to Final Fantasy 9 in the upcoming expansion. During a recent announcement at PAX East, Yoshida mentioned that the reason for these references is a "secret."
According to a recent leak on GeForce Now database, a Final Fantasy 9 remake was among the unannounced titles. While an official announcement is yet to be made, sources suggest that the remake is indeed in development.

For fans who are eagerly waiting for this remake, Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb added fuel to the fire by stating, "I will say I heard very recently, once again, Final Fantasy 9 remake is real, that is real and happening." Additionally, Gematsu reported that a Final Fantasy 9 remake is currently in the works.
Originally released in 2000 for the PlayStation, Final Fantasy 9 remains a beloved classic in the series. The game has seen multiple re-releases over the years, making it accessible to newer generations of gamers across various platforms.
