Rumors have emerged that plans for a Dead Space 2 remake have been put on hold due to underwhelming commercial performance of the first game. According to industry insider Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb, developer Motive Studios has shifted focus away from the Dead Space franchise.

In a recent discussion, Grubb mentioned that the Dead Space 2 project has been shelved following disappointing sales figures for the original title. This news comes shortly after Electronic Arts announced that Motive Studios would be integrated into the Battlefield development team.

Motive Studios GM, Patrick Klaus, revealed that the team behind the successful Dead Space remake will now be collaborating with Battlefield studios to work on future projects for the franchise. This decision means that the highly anticipated Dead Space 2 remake will no longer be in active development.

Instead, Motive Studios will be concentrating on other ventures, including the ongoing development of their Iron Man project. This shift in focus has left fans wondering about the fate of the Dead Space series and the possibility of a sequel or remake in the future.

Despite initial plans for a Dead Space 2 remake being in the works, it seems that the project has been put on hold indefinitely. Fans of the franchise are left with uncertainty about whether they will ever see a follow-up to the beloved survival horror game.
