A recent DDoS attack has caused serious network technical issues affecting Final Fantasy 14, as reported on The Lodestone today.

Following the attack, players are experiencing disconnections from data center Worlds and are unable to log in. Moreover, there are widespread issues related to "accessing, sending, and receiving data from JP/NA/EU/OC data centers."

Square Enix has assured players that they are actively investigating the attack and implementing countermeasures to mitigate its effects. However, the culprit behind the attack remains unknown, leaving players uncertain about the duration of these technical challenges and whether other Final Fantasy titles could be at risk.

Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops, as The Lodestone promises to provide "additional information" to keep players informed. The situation was first reported at 6 AM PDT today, suggesting that Square Enix has been working on resolving the issue for a while now.

In more positive news, Final Fantasy 14 recently held an Open Beta for Xbox in February 2024. Additionally, the next major update for the game titled Dawntrail is set to release on July 2, 2024, as confirmed by Square Enix here.
