Stellar Blade, the popular action game, recently caused a stir among fans due to changes in the main character Eve's outfits. The head of development, Kim Hyeong-tae, addressed the controversy in an interview, clarifying that the changes were made to enhance the overall gaming experience, not due to external pressure.

According to Kim, the costume alterations were always part of the design process and aimed at improving the visual appeal of the game. The focus was on refining the costume designs for better aesthetics, rather than on displaying excessive skin. He emphasized that the changes were implemented to raise the quality of the game.

Kim highlighted that the final outfit modifications were part of the Day One patch, ensuring that players received the intended result. The initial outfit concepts featured more revealing designs, which were later altered to achieve a sleeker and higher-quality look.

In an interview with GameAbout, Kim disclosed insights into the game's development process, drawing inspiration from successful titles like Uncharted, The Last of Us, and God of War to enhance level designs. He stressed the importance of a balanced mix of horizontal and vertical elements in creating engaging gameplay.

Kim also shared his views on game industry advertising and government support, advocating for creative freedom for developers to craft games that resonate globally. Despite the controversy, Stellar Blade received favourable reviews, with critics awarding it 82 points on Metacritic.
