Confirmed Dates for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships

The Pokemon Company has officially revealed the dates for the highly anticipated Pokemon World Championships 2024. This annual event is the pinnacle of competitive Pokemon gaming and will take place from August 16 - 18 at the Honolulu Convention Center in Hawaii.

Players who have been competing throughout the season will be invited to participate in this prestigious event. Thousands of players and fans from around the world will gather to compete in various Pokemon disciplines including the Pokemon Video Game Championships, Pokemon Trading Card Game, and Pokemon Unite.

The Pokemon World Championships are known for crowning new champions each year. The 2022 event was held in London, while the previous year's event took place in Yokohama, Japan. The 2022 event marked the first time the championships were held outside of the US.

  • 1st – Vance Kelley ($25,000 Prize)

POKÉMON VGC (MASTERS DIVISION)

  • 1st – Shohei Kimura ($10,000 Prize)

POKÉMON GO(MASTERS DIVISION)

  • 1st – ItsAXN ($10,000 Prize)

POKÉMON UNITE (MASTERS DIVISION)

  • 1st – Luminosity ($100,000 Prize)
  • 2nd – OMO Abyssinian
  • 3rd – Oyasumi Makuro
  • 4th – Mjk

Exciting news for Pokemon fans also came in the form of the announcement of the upcoming game, Pokemon Legends Z-A. This game will be the second installment in the Pokemon Legends series, following Pokemon Legends Arceus. Players will revisit the Kalos region and Lumiose City in this highly anticipated game set for release in 2025.
