Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been a highly anticipated game for many, and while it may still be exclusive to the PS5 officially, the modding community has been hard at work creating an unofficial PC port that is getting closer to the real deal.
A comparison video shared by YouTube's 'Combative 117' showcases a side-by-side view of the PS5 version and the latest iteration of the unofficial PC port of the game. The results are surprisingly impressive, considering it is not an official release.
The main focus of the comparison was not on textures, but rather on how closely the PC port resembles the PS5 version. While some textures are still missing, overall, the PC port is almost identical to the PS5 version. The modding team behind the port is continuously working to enhance the experience, with plans to add Ray Tracing in the next build for improved reflections.
The PC port, based on the leaked PC dev build, has come a long way. It is now playable from start to finish, with significant improvements in performance and reduced stutters. However, there are still some graphical glitches that need to be addressed.
Looking ahead, the modding team aims to further polish the PC port by the end of 2024, making it on par with the PS5 version. The addition of DLSS or FSR support would be a welcome enhancement for PC players.
While there is no official confirmation from Sony regarding a PC release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, rumors suggest it may arrive in FY 2025 based on recent leaks. Until then, PC players can enjoy the progress made by the modding community in bringing this popular title to a new platform.
