Homeworld 3, the highly anticipated space RTS game from Blackbird Interactive, is gearing up for its final release. However, the developers have not been resting on their laurels and have made significant gameplay changes based on player feedback from the demo launch.

The developer recently announced a series of updates aimed at improving various aspects of the game. According to the announcement, these changes focus on enhancing controls, making combat more engaging, reintroducing the classic Attack Move feature, refining UI and visuals, and increasing gameplay variety.

The updates include improvements such as revamped controls with re-bindable keybinds, increased ship hitpoints, and enhanced formations for more strategic combat. Additionally, players will now have the ability to adjust the scale of the HUD and enjoy improved visibility of smaller ships even when zoomed out.

In a statement released by the developer, they highlighted some key changes:

  • Updates to controls
    • All keybinds are now re-bindable
    • Increased movement and rotation speed for a smoother experience
    • Legacy control scheme updated to replicate Homeworld 2 Remastered
  • Enhanced combat
    • Increased ship hitpoints by 30%
    • Improved formations for strategic advantage
    • Support Frigate pilots now heal friendly ships autonomously
  • Classic Attack Move is back
    • Ships can now attack while moving in a different direction

If you've been eagerly awaiting the release of Homeworld 3, mark your calendars for May 13, 2024, when the game is set to launch on PC. Despite some delays, the game promises to deliver an epic space RTS experience that fans have been anticipating since its announcement back in 2019.
