Recently, a survey conducted by GAME, the UK's top video game retailer, revealed some fascinating insights into gamers' preferences regarding live-action adaptations. Out of 650 participants, 52% showed a strong preference for the original Tomb Raider movies over other game-related cinematic releases.

However, not all adaptations have been received with the same level of enthusiasm. Only 14% of respondents expressed positive feelings towards the Gran Turismo movie, which was directed by Neill Blomkamp and premiered in August 2023.

When it comes to dream adaptations, the standout choice for 41% of gamers was a Red Dead Redemption movie or TV series. Following closely behind were Mass Effect (38%), Horizon (33%), and The Elder Scrolls (29%). Surprisingly, a small percentage of 2% even expressed interest in a FIFA live-action adaptation.

For those curious about their peers' top franchise picks, The Last of Us emerged as the clear winner, capturing the hearts of 42% of respondents. This beloved series, which has also won an Emmy, continues to resonate strongly with gamers.
