Rumors are swirling in the gaming community as speculation grows about the possibility of a new Doom game being announced at June's Xbox Games Showcase. The gaming world is abuzz with excitement at the thought of what could be in store for one of the most iconic franchises in video game history.

Reports from The Verge suggest that Microsoft may have something big planned for Doom fans. Tom Warren of The Verge hinted at new game announcements that could potentially lift the Doom around Xbox. Eurogamer also reported that an announcement related to Doom is on the cards for the event.

Adding fuel to the fire is a trademark filed by Bethesda's parent company, ZeniMax Media, earlier this year. The trademark 'IDKFA' is a clear nod to the classic Doom cheat code, further indicating that something Doom-related is in the works.

With the last mainline series entry, Doom Eternal, having been released in 2020, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of the next installment. The leaked roadmap from last summer hinted at a title called Doom Year Zero, along with plans for DLC releases in subsequent years.

Microsoft's strategy of bringing more first-party games to rival platforms raises the intriguing possibility of the next Doom game being available on consoles other than Xbox. This move could potentially open up the world of Doom to a wider audience of gamers.
