Exciting news for fans of the indie RPG scene! In a recent press release, Sabotage Studio has proudly announced that Sea of Stars has crossed the impressive milestone of 5 million players.

For those unfamiliar, Sea of Stars is a captivating turn-based RPG that made its debut in August 2023. The game quickly made a name for itself by winning the prestigious title of Best Independent Game at The Game Awards 2023, beating out tough competition such as Cocoon and Dave the Diver.

To commemorate this achievement, Sabotage Studio has unveiled an exciting new development - a 3-player couch co-op mode currently in the works. While a specific release date has yet to be confirmed, the studio has promised that "more details are set to be released soon" and even provided gamers with a tantalizing teaser of what's to come.

It's important to note that Sea of Stars may not have reached the staggering player numbers of some recent indie hits like Palworld, but it continues to earn acclaim and maintain a "Very Positive" rating on Steam long after its release.

The introduction of the 3-player co-op mode, humorously termed "Single Player+", promises an engaging experience for players. With innovative mechanics such as "Co-op timed hits", it appears that teamwork will be essential for success in Sea of Stars. Players will need to coordinate their actions effectively to land hits and maximize damage, fostering a sense of collaboration and strategy.

For those eager to dive into the world of Sea of Stars, the game is currently available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. It's even included in Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus for select members, offering more accessibility to interested gamers.
