Saros Hides Free PSN Avatars Behind a Secret Store Button
Housemarque tucked free PSN avatars behind a hidden "Call Eclipse" button on the Saros PlayStation Store page, and most players probably scrolled right past it.
Most PlayStation Store pages are forgettable. You scroll past screenshots, skim the description, maybe check the file size, and either buy the game or don't. Saros apparently decided that was too boring. Hidden on the game's store listing is a button labeled "Call Eclipse" that, when clicked, triggers a short animation and reveals a redeemable code for a free pack of six PSN avatars. Once the animation finishes, a second button, "End Eclipse," appears to dismiss the code. If you blinked, you missed it.
The discovery was made by Yvan Dureve of Chocobo Plan, and the codes are region-specific. For anyone who doesn't want to hunt through the store page themselves, here they are: Americas (BN5Q-7B28-G7ND), Europe (QLD2-2HD4-4NA2), Asia (T23N-MDCL-569D), Japan (HEKJ-925F-XG3M), and Korea (ED22-899Q-69JN). To redeem, go to your PlayStation profile, select "Redeem Codes," and enter the one matching your region. The avatar pack includes Arjun, the game's protagonist played by Rahul Kohli, alongside five bosses from the game.
It's a small freebie, sure. Six avatars won't change anyone's life. But I love that Housemarque buried this inside the store page like a little in-universe Easter egg rather than just blasting it out in a tweet. It fits the tone of a studio that clearly cares about presentation, and it rewards the kind of player who actually pokes around instead of speed-scrolling to the buy button.
Grab Them While You Can
There's no official word on when or if these codes expire, but the phrasing around them strongly implies they won't last forever. Given that Saros only launched on April 30, this feels like a launch-window treat that could quietly vanish once the initial buzz dies down. If you own the game, or even if you're just curious, there's no reason not to claim them now.
Saros itself is off to a strong start. OpenCritic currently lists it at an 88 average with 94% of critics recommending it, and the conversation around it has been overwhelmingly positive. Sony and Housemarque haven't released sales figures yet, but the critical reception alone puts it among the best PS5 exclusives this year. Returnal found a devoted but relatively small audience; Saros seems positioned to reach a wider one, partly because Housemarque built in more accessibility options this time around.
The hidden avatar trick is a tiny detail in the grand scheme of a full game launch, but it's exactly makes a studio feel like it's run by people who actually play games. Most publishers would have turned six PSN avatars into a pre-order bonus or a PS Plus perk. Housemarque just hid them behind a secret button and let players find them. The codes are live right now across all regions, so claim yours before they disappear without warning.
