Rivals of Aether II's First Guest Fighter? Mina the Hollower
Aether Studios dropped two character reveals at EVO 2026, confirming Yacht Club Games' Mina the Hollower as the platform fighter's first-ever guest character.

Yacht Club Games' Mina has been busy. Barely a month after her own game launched to massive sales, the Hollower is already crossing over into Rivals of Aether II as the platform fighter's first guest character. Aether Studios made the announcement during EVO 2026, showing a brief 30-second teaser with a 2027 release window.
The reveal came alongside a second character announcement: Gouie, "The Lost Mireling," a free addition hitting the roster on August 4. According to Gematsu, both characters were revealed during an Aether Studios panel at EVO, with the Mina announcement landing a day after the developer teased that guest characters were coming "soon." Picking Mina as the first crossover fighter is a smart call. She's riding a wave of goodwill from her own game's launch, and her whip-focused, action-heavy moveset should translate well to a platform fighter built on precise spacing and creative recoveries. I'm curious how they adapt her burrowing mechanic; if Aether Studios leans into it, she could play unlike anyone else on the roster.
Mina will cap off a loaded roadmap that runs through 2027, according to Shacknews. Console versions of Rivals of Aether II are planned for 2028, so Switch 2 and other platform players will have to wait a while longer. The original Rivals of Aether hit the Switch eShop back in 2020, so the audience is there whenever Aether Studios is ready to bring the sequel over. For now, Gouie arrives on PC on August 4 as a free update.
