Pokopia's Next Event Turns Bulbasaur Into a Jump Rope
Pokémon Pokopia's next event asks players to skip rope using Bulbasaur's vines, with prizes on the line and multiplayer competitions on Cloud Islands.

Of all the things Bulbasaur has been across three decades of Pokémon, a jump rope wasn't on my bingo card. Pokémon Pokopia's next limited-time event, Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Contest, does exactly what it says: you hop over the little guy's vines as many times as you can without tripping, and your score determines what prizes you walk away with. It's absurd, it's charming, and it's the kind of event only a life-sim Pokémon game could pull off with a straight face.
The event kicks off April 19 at 5:00 AM local time and runs through April 26. Players need to have completed the early Main Quest in Withered Wasteland to access it, but the jump rope contest itself can take place in any city. Rewards are based on consecutive jumps, and you can attempt it as many times as you want during the week. The confirmed headline prize so far is an exclusive trophy for your island.
Multiplayer adds a competitive wrinkle. In another player's world, both host and guests can participate, but only the host receives prizes. The highest jump count from any participant becomes that world's high score. Cloud Islands work slightly differently: all players present can compete, the top score gets attributed to the island, and only the player who set that record earns rewards. If you're planning to grind this with friends, make sure you're hosting.
Pokopia has been keeping a steady rhythm of limited-time events since launch. The Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff event introduced new Pokémon and themed furniture through Dream Island currency, while an one-day April Fools' event handed out an Inflatable Sudowoodo decoration. According to datamined information, the next event after Bulbasaur's will feature Sableye and a new collectible currency from Dream Islands. I like that Pokopia is leaning into these small, weird seasonal moments rather than just cycling through generic festivals. A jump rope contest starring a Grass-type starter is exactly the kind of low-stakes fun that keeps a life-sim feeling alive between bigger updates.
