PlayStation's $350 Monitor Charges Your DualSense
Sony's upcoming 27-inch gaming monitor includes a DualSense charging hook built right into the display. Pre-orders open June 5.

"A DualSense charging hook built into it to let players rest their controllers right under the screen."
That's how the PlayStation Blog describes one of the standout features of Sony's upcoming 27-inch gaming monitor, and I did a double-take reading it. We've had charging docks, charging cables, and charging stands for years, but building a charger directly into the monitor itself is a small, clever detail that no other first-party hardware maker has tried. It's sounds obvious in hindsight.
The monitor launches on August 27, 2026, at $349.99, with pre-orders going live on June 5. Spec-wise, it's a QHD IPS panel running at 2560x1440 with VRR support and 120Hz gameplay on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Hook it up to a PC or Mac and it pushes up to 240Hz. Those are solid numbers for the price, though not exceptional. You can find 1440p 240Hz monitors from ASUS and LG in the same ballpark. Where Sony is betting it can differentiate is the PlayStation ecosystem integration, and that charging hook is the most visible example.
Two More Accessories Incoming
The monitor wasn't the only reveal. Sony also confirmed the FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick will launch on August 6 for $199.99, with pre-orders starting June 12. It's built for PS5 and PC, comes with a sling carrying case and a built-in rechargeable battery, and is clearly aimed at the competitive fighting game crowd. With DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round dropping June 25 and the FGC scene staying active, the timing makes sense.
Then there are the Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers, which Sony says are coming "later this year" with no price or pre-order window. That vagueness is a little frustrating when the other two products got specific dates and dollar amounts, but at least they're being upfront about not having the details locked down yet rather than announcing a date they'd have to walk back.
Back to the monitor, because that's the product most people are going to care about. At $349.99, Sony is pricing this below the $400-500 range where most premium 1440p gaming monitors sit, but above budget options that hit 1440p 144Hz for around $200. The question is whether PlayStation branding and that DualSense integration justify the premium over a comparable third-party panel. For someone already deep in the PS5 ecosystem who wants a clean desk setup without a separate charging dock, I think it probably does. For PC-primary players, the value proposition is thinner.
I like that Sony is building out its peripheral lineup with products that actually solve minor annoyances rather than just slapping a logo on generic hardware. A controller charger integrated into your display means one less cable, one less dock, one less thing cluttering your desk. It's a $350 monitor that happens to do something no competitor does, and that's a smarter sell than a $350 monitor that's just another 1440p panel.
Pre-orders for the monitor open June 5, and the FlexStrike fight stick follows on June 12. Sony hasn't said whether either product will be available through retailers beyond the PlayStation Direct store at launch.
