Mechabellum 1.11: Season 8, Typhoon Remake, New Notes (9th June 2026)
Typhoon gets a complete overhaul to fix its snowballing problem, while Season 8 introduces new anomalies and a slew of balance changes across the unit roster.

Update 1.11 goes live today at 07:00 UTC with a full Typhoon remake that finally gives the rare unit a reason to exist. The original Typhoon was so prone to snowballing that it became the only rare unit without Tech support in 1v1 mode, making it one of the least-picked units in the game. This rebuild strips out all its old Techs and adds six new ones, redefining it as a front-line chaff-clearer with anti-air capability and healing support.
Season 8 arrives alongside two new Dimensional Rift anomalies: Battlefield Power Research lets players choose which powers to unlock at a research center instead of pulling them randomly, while Experimental Death Knell adds a new unit to the drop pool. The anomaly combo schedule is also shifting to 3-hour rotations instead of 1-hour ones, giving players more time to experiment with each setup.
Beyond Typhoon, expect significant rebalancing across Vortex (now in starter packs but nerfed), Hound, Rhino, and a dozen other units. The patch also adds a skip button for Unit Reinforcement and fixes several bugs where units gained XP they shouldn't have. Check the full notes for all the cost adjustments and Tech changes.

Below are the content of this update:
Unit Remake: Typhoon
Due to the severe snowballing tendency of the original Typhoon, it became the only rare unit and the only unit without Tech in 1v1 Mode, which also made Typhoon one of the least used units in the game. This remake will elevate Typhoon to the core unit roster, nerf its overpowered snowballing tendency, and make its role as a front-line chaff-clearing and anti-air unit more defined. To achieve this, we had to remove all of the Typhoon's old Techs and add the following new Techs:
- Increases range by 40
- Every 10 seconds, fires a marker missile with a range of 160 meters, marking enemy air units within a 100-meter radius of the target. Marked units have their range reduced by 20 and take 30% additional damage for 10 seconds.
- Reduces incoming damage by 80%, up to 5 times.
- Every 3 seconds, restores 500 HP to the Typhoon and friendly units within 100 meters. The healing amount increases by 500 per level.
- When destroyed, the Typhoon begins field reassembly and returns to combat in 5 seconds with 100% HP. Limited to 1 activation per round.
- Units destroyed by the Typhoon explode violently, dealing 125 damage to all units within a 15m radius.
- Deploys a trench at the start of battle. While entrenched, Typhoon cannot move, HP increases by 70%, Range increases by 20. If no enemies are in range for 7 seconds, Typhoon will leave and destroy the trench.
New Dimensional Rift Anomalies
- Starts with 2 additional Typhoon
- Start with 1 extra Experimental Death Knell equipped with 20 unlockable Techs
- Players will be able to select different Battlefield Powers to research at the Research Center. Research requires a certain amount of time, and the research progress is visible to both players. Battlefield Powers moved into the Research Center cannot be obtained from Reinforcements again. Additionally, the cooldown time has been significantly increased.
Developer's Note: We will continue to adjust this Anomaly in the future. If this Anomaly is ultimately proven to be popular, we will consider adding it to other modes.
Anomaly Combo Schedule Adjustment
- The duration of each Anomaly Combo has been extended from 1 hour to 3 hours
- During Week 1 of Season 8, all Anomalies will include the Anomaly
- During Week 2 of Season 8, all Anomalies will include the Anomaly

- Added Experimental Death Knell to Unit Drop in 4-Player Brawl Match

Balance Adjustments
The complete overhaul of Typhoon and the addition of Vortex to the starter pack have presented us with significant balance challenges, and we expect to continue making minor balance adjustments in the coming weeks.
Battlefield Powers
- Duration: 2 Rounds → 1 Round
- Duration: 2 Rounds → 1 Round, Cost 200 → 100
Developer's Note: This significantly reduces the penalty players incur for failing to use shields in a timely manner to block Battlefield Powers.
Reinforcement Card
- Vortex and Void Eye that appear in Unit Drop will not exceed level 3
- Added a skip button to Unit Reinforcement, and the supplies obtained when skipping gradually increase with the number of rounds.
Scorpion
- New Tech Increases Attack Range by 20m and reduces Attack Interval by 1s, but decreases Splash Range by 8m
Developer's Note: The Scorpion's new Tech will allow it to significantly improve its combat capability against Giant units, at the cost of reduced efficiency against medium units.
Vortex
- Now in Starter Packs
- ATK 1385 → 1246 (-10%)
- Upgrade XP 700 → 750
- changed to: Accumulates energy while attacking. Every 5 attacks, deploys a shield with a radius of 40m at the current location, and increases the required attacks for the next shield by 5. The shield has a base HP of 2000, increasing by an additional 2000 HP per Vortex level.
- ATK modifier increases by +15% → +35% per linked unit, max +195% → +105%
- Cost 100 → 150
- Cost 100 → 150
- Cost 400 → 350
Hound
- Cost 200 → 300
Developer's Note: The price to activate related tactics was too low, which made it overly popular. This price adjustment will delay the activation time of related tactics. The introduction of Vortex to the Starter Packs will significantly impact the Hounds. Further adjustments will be made to Hound once Vortex becomes more stable.
Hacker
- Hackers now require a 0.9s preparation time before controlling a new target
Developer's Note: This adjustment will significantly reduce the efficiency of hackers in controlling small units while keeping their efficiency in controlling medium and large units largely unchanged.
Abyss
- Each attack can now damage Sledgehammer up to 2 times (originally only 1)
Developer's Note: Previously, the Sledgehammer could effectively withstand attacks from the Abyss, while other units of a similar size would be quickly eliminated. This was very confusing for many players. The goal of this adjustment is to make the Sledgehammer's performance against the Abyss more consistent with other similarly sized units.- Cost 300 → 200
Rhino
- ATK modifier x1.5 → x1.4, Splash Range 32 → 35, Cost 250 → 150.
- Cost 150 → 100
- Cost 200 → 150
- ATK modifier +20% → +60%
Developer's Note: Rhino is one of the least popular units in the game, and we hope these adjustments expand Rhino's use cases.
Marksman
- ATK modifier +50%→ +60%
- Cost 250 → 150, Damage modifier -50% → -60%
Farseer
- Cost 200 → 150
Tarantula
- Cost 200 → 100
- Explosive damage 1000 → 2500
Fang
- Cost 300 → 250
Crawler
- Cost 150 → 100
- Cost 150 → 100
Raiden
- Cost 300 → 200
Void Eye
- Duration 3.5s → 3s
Sabertooth
- Cost 150 → 100
- Cost 300 → 200
Sledgehammer
- Cost 200 → 150
Phantom Ray
- ATK no longer decreases, Cost 150 → 200
Vulcan
- Cost 250 → 300
Starter Packs
- Player HP modifier +100 → +200
- Player HP modifier +200 → +300
Other QOL Improvement
- Now, after hiding the Reinforcement panel, players can open the Unit Unlock panel to view the Tech loadout
- Players can now toggle off new Rift Anomaly notifications in the Settings
- Clicking on a player's name in the Room now displays the interaction menu
- Added a new category label to Testing Grounds Tools
- Optimized the sorting of units in Testing Grounds Tools
- Optimized several Tech icons

- Fixed the issue where Hacker-controlled units incorrectly gained XP
- Fixed the issue where Melting Point and Death Knell occasionally failed to damage aerial unit barriers
- Fixed a Fortress model error
