Love and Deepspace's New Werewolf Boyfriend Splits the Fando
Valko, a werewolf clan leader and tech CEO, joins Love and Deepspace on July 9. The fandom is split on whether he fits the game's vibe or was designed to court Western audiences.

A werewolf CEO with cherry-red hair and a habit of running on all fours isn't exactly what you'd expect from a game whose existing love interests lean toward brooding doctors and elegant mafia bosses. But that's exactly what Infold Games is adding to Love and Deepspace with Valko, the game's sixth love interest, debuting in the Version 6.0 update on July 9. He's 26, 6'2", heads a company called EonCore Tech, leads a werewolf clan, and has an Evo ability called Metallization that's apparently separate from the whole lycanthropy thing.
The reaction has been immediate and thoroughly divided. Plenty of fans are thrilled to finally get their Team Jacob moment after Sylus gave vampire enthusiasts their fix back in July 2024. But a vocal portion of the community thinks Valko looks too similar to existing love interests, or that his more feral energy clashes with the restrained, drama-influenced tone the rest of the cast carries. One Chinese fan's post on X captured the cultural fault line cleanly: "Do you European girls like this? This person is not quite the type that girls here like." The theory that Valko was designed specifically to appeal to Western audiences has gained real traction, and honestly, looking at his rougher aesthetic compared to the polished elegance of Zayne or Xavier, I can see why people are reading it that way.
Whether that's a cynical play or a smart expansion of the game's appeal depends on your perspective, but for a title that has crossed $1 billion in user spending and 31 million downloads, broadening the roster's archetypes seems like a reasonable bet. Infold has added roughly one new love interest per year since launch: Rafayel, Xavier, and Zayne shipped with the game in January 2024, Sylus arrived that July, and Caleb followed in January 2025. Valko's full romance line will launch alongside the 6.0 update, with new Companions available to unlock at the same time.
