20-Year PC Exclusive Gothic 3 Finally Hits Consoles

THQ Nordic has dated all three Gothic Classic games for PlayStation and Xbox, with Gothic 3 finally breaking its two-decade PC exclusivity this November.

For over 20 years, Gothic 3 has only ever existed on PC. That changes on November 24, when Gothic 3 Classic launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One for $29.99. While the first two Gothic games already made the jump to Switch in recent years, the third entry never left its original platform, making this the longest-running console holdout in the trilogy.

THQ Nordic confirmed the full release schedule on April 14: Gothic Classic arrives July 28, Gothic II Complete Classic follows on September 29, and Gothic 3 Classic closes things out in November. Each game is priced at $29.99 individually. Players who pre-order Gothic Remake, which launches June 5, get Gothic Classic as a free digital bonus.

Staggering the releases every two months is a smart call. These are dense, 50-plus-hour RPGs from the early 2000s, and dumping all three at once would have buried the later entries. Spacing them out gives each game room to breathe and lets console players who've never touched the series work through them in something close to the original release order. I'm curious how Gothic 3 in particular holds up; it launched in a rough state back in 2006 and needed extensive community patches on PC before it became playable. Whether THQ Nordic is shipping the patched version or something closer to the original release will matter a lot.

Gothic Remake hits PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on June 5 for $59.99 ($49.99 on PC), built in Unreal Engine 5. Between the remake and all three classic ports, 2026 is shaping up as a full-scale Gothic revival on consoles.
