Forget Boss Gear, Crimson Desert Pets Sleep With You Now
Pearl Abyss dropped a massive Crimson Desert patch with boss gear, Abyss expansion, and dozens of fixes. Everyone's talking about the pets curling up in bed with you instead.

Buried halfway down a patch notes page full of boss equipment sets and Abyss expansion, one line from Pearl Abyss has completely hijacked the conversation around Crimson Desert's latest update: "Summoned pets will now rest together with the character when resting in bed." Your pet just teleports beside you, curls up, and goes to sleep. I love everything about this.
Patch 1.13.00, which rolled out across all platforms yesterday, is actually a hefty content drop. Kliff and Oongka get 39 new pieces of equipment, including full boss gear sets like the Tarandus the Ashen outfit, Unyielding Hero, and Knight of Carnage. Oongka and Damiane can now enter the Abyss, which reshuffles Memory Fragment locations for rematchable bosses. Damiane, meanwhile, gets a comparatively sad 8 pieces of armor. There's also a new Hunter's Sigil item that lets bird pets retrieve prey and gatherable items for you, expanded dye options for weapons and disguise outfits, and a stack of bug fixes covering everything from sinking rowboats to disappearing wagons.
None of that matters right now, because the internet has collectively decided that pet snuggling is the patch's defining feature. And honestly, when a single cosmetic interaction generates more excitement than an entire boss gear system, Pearl Abyss should take that as the compliment it is. The studio's post-launch support for Crimson Desert has been relentless since the game launched, adding everything from pinball to boss rematches at a pace most live-service games would struggle to match, let alone a single-player open-world RPG. Patch 1.13.00 is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
