Horror's Most Brutal Clown Slashes Into Dead by Daylight
Art the Clown, horror cinema's most gleefully sadistic villain, is joining Dead by Daylight's roster this November. He might be the most uncomfortable addition the game has ever made.

Dead by Daylight has hosted Ghostface, Freddy Krueger, Pyramid Head, and a xenomorph. None of them made audiences physically leave theatres. Art the Clown did. Behaviour Interactive announced during the game's 10th Anniversary Broadcast that the Terrifier villain will join the asymmetrical horror game as part of a new chapter in November 2026, with actor David Howard Thornton appearing on stage to reveal the crossover.
What makes this one different from every other licensed Killer announcement is the source material itself. The Terrifier films are built around practical-effects gore that goes far beyond what most mainstream horror attempts. Terrifier 3 grossed over $90 million worldwide in 2024, becoming the highest-grossing unrated film of all time, and it earned that rating honestly. Art doesn't just kill people; the films linger on it in ways designed to make you squirm. Translating that energy into a T-rated-adjacent multiplayer game where survivors loop pallets is going to be a fascinating creative challenge, and I think it's the most interesting design problem Behaviour has given itself in years.
Director Damien Leone posted on social media calling it "the most requested collab," adding that it was "an honor" to bring Art into the game. Behaviour didn't show gameplay or confirm whether the chapter includes a new Survivor or map, so all we have for now is a logo and a release window. The Terrifier chapter follows a packed schedule: Jason Voorhees arrives tomorrow on June 16, the original Survivor chapter The Life Road launches June 25, and the community-developed Chorus of Sin hits in August.
Terrifier 4 is currently in production with no release date, reportedly the final entry in Leone's series. If Behaviour times this right, the Dead by Daylight chapter could land alongside a wave of renewed interest in the franchise. Art the Clown sitting in the same roster as the Demogorgon and Ghost Face is a wild tonal shift, and that contrast is exactly why this one stands out.
