No More Corridors: Alien Isolation 2 Hunts You Planetside
Creative Assembly finally showed proper footage of Alien: Isolation 2 at Summer Game Fest 2026, confirming the sequel trades Sevastopol's corridors for a storm-battered colony world.

Twelve years after a xenomorph stalked players through the halls of Sevastopol Station, Creative Assembly is sending its sequel outdoors. Alien: Isolation 2 got its first proper trailer at Summer Game Fest 2026 yesterday, and the biggest takeaway isn't a release date (there isn't one) but a setting that changes the formula: a colony world called Kurosaki Station, complete with wind-blasted landscapes, alien foliage, and thick fog.
Creative director Al Hope confirmed the shift during the showcase. "From the claustrophobic confines of the colony itself to the exposed and storm ravaged landscapes surrounding it, Kurosaki Station is a new hunting ground for the ultimate apex predator," he said. The game will feature a brand new protagonist and promises new tools and tactics for surviving the xenomorph, which Creative Assembly says will be smarter than the original's already infamous AI.
This is where I'm torn. The original Alien: Isolation worked because the xenomorph felt like part of the architecture; it dropped from vents, slithered through ducts, turned every corridor into a death trap. Moving that creature into open, storm-swept terrain is a massive creative gamble. Interior sections are clearly still in the game, based on the trailer footage, but the identity of the original was so tightly bound to that claustrophobic space station design that I'm curious whether the tension survives when you can see the sky. It could be brilliant. It could also dilute what made the first game special.
Alien: Isolation 2 is confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. No release date or window has been announced, and the Steam page is live for wishlisting now.
