Surviving Water Crossings in Dragon's Dogma 2

Have you ever found yourself frustrated by the inability to swim in video games? It seems like such a simple mechanic, yet many developers struggle to implement it effectively. The same holds true for Dragon's Dogma 2, where jumping into water can lead to a swift demise. However, there is a way to cross water without meeting a watery end.

One solution lies in playing as a mage. By leveling up your vocation and acquiring the necessary skills, you can learn to levitate for short distances. While you won't be crossing vast oceans, you can easily navigate deep rivers and small lakes with this ability, giving you about four seconds of airtime to reach the other side.

Another option is to utilize the Frigor spell. As a mage, casting Frigor allows you to create shards of ice that form a staircase, which you can climb to safety. Just be cautious when using this spell in deep water, as the ice will sink beneath the surface, potentially taking you down with it.
