Bethesda's Todd Howard recently shared some intriguing details about Fallout 5 with the creators of the upcoming Fallout TV show to ensure that both projects remained unique and distinct.

In a revealing interview with Den of Geek, Howard along with Jonathan Nolan and showrunner Graham Wagner shed light on the creative process behind the highly anticipated series.

While there was some confusion among fans when Nolan hinted at the show being akin to "Fallout 5," he clarified that the TV series will explore a brand new narrative within the established Fallout universe without overlapping with the events of the upcoming game.

Discussing the advantages of crafting an original story within the Fallout universe, Nolan expressed his excitement, stating: "It means you have all of the benefit of beautiful storytelling that Todd and [Bethesda] has contributed to, but we also get to tell an original story within that world. As writers and filmmakers, it's just a dream come true."

With a touch of humor, Nolan teased, "I think we made Fallout 6," to which Howard added, "We know all about Fallout 5, we're not telling anyone."

Howard later confirmed that he did share certain details about Fallout 5 with the show's creators, ensuring that the projects did not overlap in key areas. He mentioned, "Well, there were some things where I said, 'Don't do this because we are going to do that in Fallout 5'."

It's important to note that the Fallout TV show will offer a unique storyline separate from the games, as Howard emphasized: "It wasn't the translation of an existing story. It was, what would the next thing be? It just happens to be a TV show."

All episodes of the Fallout TV show are set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, featuring a talented cast including Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten.

While fans eagerly await Fallout 5, Howard previously confirmed that the development priorities lie with Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6, indicating a longer wait for the next installment in the Fallout series.
