Hytale Patch Notes - Update 5 (26th May 2026)

Hytale's Update 5 is out, headlined by the no-code Trigger Volume Tool and first-iteration controller support.

The Trigger Volume Tool alone makes Update 5, and I mean that. It lets you place invisible 3D zones in the world that fire off effects when players enter, exit, break blocks, or meet whatever conditions you set, sounds, NPC spawns, weather changes, teleportation, game mode switches, all configured through a point-and-click GUI with zero code required. For a game built around player-made worlds, that's a powerful addition, and I expect community servers to get a lot more interesting fast.

Controller support also lands in its first pass. Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch controllers are all recognised out of the box, covering movement, combat, and menu navigation. The developer who built it is upfront that it's a temporary layer on top of the existing UI rather than a ground-up redesign, with a proper gamepad-native UI coming later. Honest communication about a feature's limitations is exactly what I want from a studio, so credit to the team for saying so plainly.

Rounding out s are Server Discovery for browsing community servers and a Social Sidebar with a friends list and Discord integration. The complete notes are below.
