The Rust Update 2.00 brings new features and improvements to the game, including Custom Zones, Seasonal Events, and enhancements to the Welcome Screen. Server owners can now create their own areas on the map with unique properties, while players can enjoy seasonal events like Xmas and Halloween. Also, improvements to server identification and spectator mode have been implemented to enhance the overall gameplay experience. Read the full patch notes below.
Rust Update 2.00 Patch Notes:
NEW FEATURES
- Custom Zones - An extension to Monument Killzones which allows players to create and manage their own area of the map that can have different properties.
- Seasonal Events - Seasonal Events such as Xmas, Halloween and Easter are now available to server owners, including all seasonal items and deployables.
- Welcome Screen Improvements - Additions to the Welcome Screen such as tabs, rules, and server staff info has been added to the existing system.
- Command/Item Subcategories - The Control Panel’s command and item lists have been improved and extended with sub-categories, and the addition of many more commands for the player to explore. (This can be turned off in the options.)
- Server Identifiers - Improvements to server identification, providing each Community Server with a unique identifier that can be used by players to find a specific server. This is also useful when used in advertisements and promotions.
COMMUNITY SERVER CHANGES
- Crouching animation is no longer jagged in Spectator Mode.
- Spectators no longer experience visual issues when their target spams chat messages while vanished.
- Fixed underwater effect visible when spectating someone in Military Tunnels.
- Spectators are now able to enter Binoculars View mode from the spectating player.
- Spectators now see the correct ammunition count when viewing a player.
- Spectate can now scroll further than two people via the control panel.
- Spectating players are no longer kicked when swapping to another player when swapping view mode.
- Camera rotation is no longer locked to Tugboat/Submarine rotation when Spectating a mounted player.
- Executing Spectate via the player list while already spectating no longer ignores current spectate flow.
- The Player's body is no longer visible when driving a RHIB in Spectate.
- Diving Mask overlay no longer appears for spectators when their target enters a body of water.
- When spectating, death markers now correctly show on the target’s death point.
- Player no longer gets kicked when immediately spectating a player.
- Mission HUD no longer flickers when Spectating.
- Exiting Spectate Mode no longer resets controller lighting from Torch.
- Player model now moves properly in Spectate mode.
- Server ID Search no longer returns servers that are offline.
- Hold prompt no longer briefly appears when favoriting servers.
- Server List search now lets the text be input correctly.
- Server list no longer breaks after getting no results in Server Name search.
- Server list no longer persists on the last page when it is buffering more servers after scrolling to the bottom of the list.
- CMS loading screen no longer returns broken map size and seeds.
- Navigating through the banned/whitelist will no longer break the list formatting.
- Banned/Whitelist menus are now correctly scrollable.
- Banned list highlight and count no longer breaks when an invalid username is banned.
- Removing the last entry from the banned/whitelist no longer removes the list position and highlight state.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when loading the Banned List when over 600 players are banned.
- Changing Decay Scale value now affects the upkeep time properly.
- Navigating through the Command List no longer triggers errors.
- Water/Water.salt have been removed from the item list in the Admin Panel.
- Community Tab now becomes dynamically unavailable when switching privacy settings after loading into the tab.
- Blank entries are no longer created on the Community Tab when the list exceeds maximum list size.
- Players can now open the debug command onscreen keyboard after entering customer command via the command list.
- Rockets and Grenades behave properly with infinite ammo settings.
- Fixed pop-up message when banned players join servers they were banned on.
- Admin hammer [Entity Details] can now target Underwater Labs dwellers directly.
- Underwater Labs PvP killzone now functions as intended.
- Solo Submarines, Duo Submarines and Torpedoes are no longer listed under Melee Weapons on the Item List.
- Fixed profanity filter Input boxes.
- Multiple commands are no longer missing or incorrect in the Commands List.
- Player count for all servers in Community is no longer 0.
- NPCs will now take damage when [allownpcdamage] is set to false.
- Hostile NPCs can be killed by the player on CMS while PvE is on.
GAMEPLAY
- Player corpses no longer clip though Underwater Labs.
- Opening the Pause Menu while entering the Keypad Interface on the Code Lock no longer causes an input lock.
- Fixed Z-Fighting around lights of the Small Oil Rig helipad.
- Users now get feedback when trying to load into a server with a whitelist active on Official servers.
- Players are no longer able to access the restock timer/advanced setting panel at non-NPC Vending Machines.
- Specific gun recoil patterns now reset after firing over their maximum ammo count.
- Monument Vending Machines now allow an item to be sold individually rather than max stacks of 10.
- Players can no longer breathe in certain areas whilst underwater.
- Throwing water from a Tugboat no longer pushes it.
- Bullets can now pass through the gaps on stairs.
- Horses no longer turn whilst reversing.
- Players are now able to split items or resources in the Inventory when using the Workbench UI or Locker UI.
- Players are now unable to respawn on their dead bodies.
- Item crafting speed/scale modifiers are clamped correctly.
- Mounting a chair on a Tugboat no longer displays the “Change Seat” prompt, leading to player death under certain scenarios.
- Satchels/C4 no longer latch onto a Tugboat rather than the doors it was thrown at.
- Projectile_los no longer registers when shooting at players and doors on Tugboats or Cargo Ship.
- Fixed a kick that could occur when turning on broadcasting for Vending Machines.
- RHIB is now fixed and can be started and driven.
- Game no longer crashes when items drop from a non-exist storage.
- Sleeping players no longer have large collison boxes.
- Spike Traps and Barricades now damage players.
- Players can no longer shoot underwater whilst crouched.
- Players should no longer occasionally experience “No Multiplayer Permission” error when opening the Main Menu.
- Doors on Tugboat no longer slowly decay.
- Players are no longer kicked when broadcasting for vending machines.
- Elevators now have correct behavior.
VISUAL
- Revolver world model orientation no longer changes relative to player distance.
- Electric effect when a player enters the wrong keycode no longer has shader issues.
- The green Recycler light now has light emissions.
- The Beanie item no longer turns white at a distance.
- Streamer Mode now applies to the Give Item Menu, Chat Log, and Loading Screens.
- Binoculars no longer have an overlapping visual filter.
- Sea floor is no longer visible between two ocean planes.
- Players’ sleeping bags no longer become invisible when moving away from a Tugboat.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when prefab pooling warms up.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when opening the Locker and Locker Preview.
UI
- Fixed UI bugs with Streamer Mode when kicking/promoting Team members.
- Hashtag (#) sign is no longer shown when attempting to build structures when line of sight is blocked.
- Deleting a Vending Machine order no longer immediately clears the UI.
- Fixed incorrect title for warning pop up box for temporary mute.
- Fixed profanity filter on Advanced Filter search.
- Favourites prompt no longer gets misplaced when adding lots of items/commands.
- Pings now scale according to the player's zoom on the Map Screen.
- Map cursor no longer slows down when the Map is almost completely zoomed out.
- Map names that contain long characters no longer overflow in the HUD.
- Map marker no longer snaps out of bounds when a specific selected marker is removed.
- Last digit of the Code Lock will no longer appear under the UI.
- Holding the button to open the Workbench no longer causes it to be interactable.
- Radial Menu position no longer goes off screen.
OTHER CHANGES
- Correct SFX when navigating empty tabs on control panels and tag filters.
- Players no longer encounter soft lock at splash screen after cancelling Rust Coin Purchase.
KNOWN ISSUES
- Server Identifiers are missing in the Favourite and History tabs.
- Custom Zones [ShowArea] ring goes under the water.
