Hotfix #1 for Goat Simulator: Remastered brings improvements and critical fixes to enhance gameplay and address various issues across all platforms. From movement quality of life adjustments to UI enhancements and bug fixes, this patch aims to provide a smoother and more enjoyable experience for players. Read the full patch notes below.
Goat Simulator: Remastered Hotfix #1 Patch Notes:
Improvements:
- Movement QoL: shortened the time delay between cancelling the ragdoll state and being able to walk again
- Movement QoL: increased movement speed – especially diagonal movement and strafing – therefore bringing it closer to the original
- UI: added player confirmation dialogue when changing resolution via graphics menu on PC
- UI: enabled key hints for Mutator and Quest menus on the HUD by default and retroactively enabling it for every player (so you can disable it again in the settings)
Critical:
- General: fixed multiple crashes for all platforms
- General: fixed texture streaming issue, causing blurry textures for some PC players
- UI: fixed an unresponsive state upon repeatedly opening pause and mutator menu at the same time
- UI: fixed mini game key hints not being synchronized with the player HUD
- UI: added missing translations for mini game HUD
- Goatville: fixed indefinite ragdoll state after having been to space
- Waste of Space: fixed an unresponsive state when closing dialogue interactions
- Waste of Space: fixed performance problems when respawning after being in space
- Waste of Space: fixed performance problems after completing test chamber
- Goat Z: fixed the day counter being active and overlapping with the timer during a race
- PayDay: fixed the wrong and overlapping button hints for firing the cannons
- MMO: fixed unresponsive state when opening the inventory while in the quest menu
- Split screen: fixed brightness differences for players on some maps
- Split screen: fixed terrain flicker in some instances
- Performance: fixed random FPS drops while being in ragdoll state
Major:
- General: fixed broken camera handling when playing as Don Pastrami and going into water
- General: fixed broken animation of Valentino Salami after unmounting wrecking ball
- General: improved loading screen behaviour across the board
- UI: brought back the missing score numbers popping up for random chaos caused by Pilgor
- UI: added missing translations in “apply changes” window when changing graphic settings
- Goatville: fixed bad lightmap UVs on the school building
- Waste of Space: fixed wrong name for romanceable NPC “Maddy Delirious”
- Waste of Space: improved spaceship controllability at maximum speed
- Waste of Space: fixed Pilgor going off screen when triggering boost on hover bike with Valentino Salami mutator equipped
- Waste of Space: fixed multiple missing or offset walls and collisions in the wrong place
- Waste of Space: fixed broken HLODs
- Buck to School: fixed collision of window in the dean’s office
- Buck to School: fixed “hurdle run” event not being triggered during a session if player runs through start/finish in opposite direction
- PayDay: fixed the “default” button in the controls menu not working anymore after interacting with the Baaa machine
- PayDay: improved the behaviour of cars, so they don’t knock down street lamps, traffic lights and signs before the player comes around
- PayDay: added missing HLOD for casino
- MMO: fixed “Johnny wants a snack” quest being shown as complete before player brings a snack
- MMO: fixed Pilgor being changed to tank character upon traveling into the city walls
- Goat Z: fixed players not being teleported to main map after completing “Survive a Day” tutorial event
- Goat Z: fixed “quest completed” notification missing when completing quests during ongoing outbreak
- Goat Z: fixed the name of the plank, which caused two items to be impossible to craft
- Split screen: fixed overlapping scores during time trails
- Split screen: fixed the mouse cursor gone missing after initiating split screen on PC
- Split screen: fixed players not being able to separately toggle active quest tracking on HUD
Minor:
- General: fixed Pilgor sometimes tripping over licked objects
- General: fixed objects being pushed away too violently when player is recovering from ragdoll state
- General: fixed wrong position of Pilgor after performing tricks when using Homo Simulatus mutator
- General: fixed Angel Goat mutator being applied to Pilgor every time the player is inactive
- UI: improved UI and HUD layout for multiple screens
- Goatville: improved the low resolution texture of Earth when going into space
- Goatville & Goat City Bay: fixed ragdoll and flying counting towards wallrun challenge under certain circumstances
- Goat City Bay: fixed Pilgor getting wobbly legs when on top of carousel
- Goat City Bay: fixed hockey puck being yeeted away when respawning after scoring a goal
- Waste of Space: fixed the Goat Trophy at the museum still showing up even if already collected
- Waste of Space: fixed the giraffe hovering above the ground
- Waste of Space: fixed Pilgor getting wobbly legs on some slow elevators
- Waste of Space: fixed objective markers above NPCs during romance quest, so players can see more than only one at a time
- Waste of Space: fixed the broken teleporters after completing the test chamber
- Waste of Space: fixed a wrong key hint being displayed for “beam back to station” on PC
- Goat Z: fixed non-functioning starvation mechanic during “Survive a Day” tutorial event
- Goat Z: fixed straw bales being called “medium” (we think they are actually great)
- Goat Z: fixed helium gas cylinders being called “helium carts”
- Goat Z: fixed “Start a Zombie Outbreak” toast being shown when starting “After Outbreak”
- Goat Z: fixed “Crystal Breath” quest counting normal NPCs bring frozen instead of only zombies
- Goat Z: fixed crafting recipes not closing automatically when leaving the garage
- Goat Z: fixed multiple faulty or missing collisions
- Goat Z: fixed some Zombies interrupting their own voice overs over and over and over and over again
- PayDay: fixed NPCs being spawned high above the ground in some instances
- MMO: fixed Pilgor getting wobbly legs on the Goatwind elevator
Trivial:
- Goat City Bay: fixed a flickering ground texture in front of the rollercoaster
- Waste of Space: fixed a senselessly rotating cow when recovering from ragdoll state in the test chamber
- Goat Z: fixed too many gravestones being called “secretive gravestone”, although there is only one and that one is secret
- PayDay: fixed a broken walking animation of the police NPCs (Fix the police!)
