Deceit 2 Update 3.1 Patch Notes:
Greetings Subjects,
We're excited to share the latest updates for our new map, Blackthorne Manor, as we continue to refine it during Early Access. Your invaluable feedback has been instrumental in shaping these improvements, and we can't wait for you to experience the enhancements we've made.
Introducing the Confession Booth
With each new Ritual Site comes a unique Inspection Mechanic to work out the intentions of other Subjects. With the update of Blackthorne Manor, we're excited to introduce: The Confession Booth.
Like all Inspection Mechanics, the Confession Booth will open when you leave the Inbetween for the first time. Two willing Subjects can enter, and their next choice may sway the outcome of the Ritual.
Once inside, you and the other Subject are secluded from the rest of the group. You will only be able to hear each other and must now make a critical decision: to Confess or Condemn!
- Confess: If both Subjects choose to Confess, you'll learn which Team the other Subject is on.
- Condemn: If either or both Subjects choose to Condemn, they will be instantly Banished from the Ritual.
The Confession Booth is a great way to confirm someone's innocence, but beware - paranoia can cloud your judgement. So, when the time comes for you to step into the Confession Booth, will you Confess or Condemn?
Final Showdown Overhaul
In our most recent update, we introduced the 'Final Showdown' phase to create a stronger end-game climax. Based on your feedback, we have been working on a patch to address your concerns and improve the experience.
- Trigger Mechanism: The Final Showdown will now begin when there are only four players left, rather than being activated by the key.
- Dynamic Outlines: To enrich strategy and combat, the persistent outlines will now pulse periodically, offering a more dynamic and fair experience during the showdown.
- Curse Adjustments: The Cursed will no longer block progress to the final Inbetween stage, except for The Chemist if they have fulfilled their Curse conditions. This adjustment ensures smoother and more balanced progression for all players.
We will continue to monitor the live game, gather data, and listen to player feedback to determine if further adjustments are needed. Thank you for your continued feedback and support!
Task Improvements
We've added four exciting new tasks to enhance your gameplay: Seagulls, Bells, Feed the Horse, and Coffins. These additions bring fresh challenges and opportunities for strategic play.
Furthermore, we've made improvements to existing tasks across the Manor:
- Various small enhancements have been made to the graveyard and cooking tasks.
- The alert waypoint for the butler task is now more visible, improving tracking efficiency.
- Updated materials for the bookcase task provide better visuals.
- Enhanced camera transitions for temporary tasks ensure a smoother experience.
- The gas lamp task boasts a new mesh and material for a revitalised look.
- Reactivation capability for graveyard and bookshelf tasks adds depth and replayability.
Other Improvements
- Blood altars in the great hall and courtyard have been repositioned for improved balance.
- Various map exploits have been fixed.
These updates, coupled with visual enhancements throughout the Manor, aim to enrich your overall immersion and enjoyment in Blackthorne Manor.
