Return of the Ancients has been live for a matter of hours and Grinding Gear Games are already pushing fixes. The 0.5.0 hotfix dropped today, addressing issues that surfaced once players actually got their hands on the new league content at scale.

The 0.5.0 update brought the Genesis Tree mechanic with it, a system built around gathering Hiveblood to unlock new crafting paths, specialisations, and currency generation. When a system that interconnected goes live to a full player base, something always breaks, and GGG clearly had a list ready. This is exactly the kind of rapid-response patching that makes the studio worth respecting, even when the bugs themselves are frustrating.

Here's the full breakdown.

Full Patch Notes

In Return of the Ancients, gain the upper hand against the Hiveborn and uncover the power of the Genesis Tree to craft valuable currencies and great items!

Inside the monastery of the Keepers of the Flames stands the Genesis Tree, a powerful weapon in the war against the Hiveborn. Stolen from the enemy and gifted to the Keepers by the Dreamer himself, the Tree allowed Ailith to create a breachstone capable of piercing Hiveborn territory. But without Hiveblood, the Tree has begun to wither.

Gather enough Hiveblood to curate and open new paths for experimentation, specialization, and discovery. Check out the video below to see what sort of combinations you’ll be able to make!
