In an exciting announcement, SNK has revealed a new collaboration with ARIKA to bring back one of its beloved classic franchises. This collaboration aims to revive a non-fighting game franchise from SNK's extensive back catalogue.

According to SNK, "The company owns over 200 SNK-branded game contents, including Neo Geo, and is currently promoting revamping to revive and revive past IPs. As part of this effort, we have decided to collaborate with ARIKA, which has excellent game development capabilities and is familiar with our IP."

One of the standout non-fighting game titles in SNK's collection is the iconic Metal Slug series. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new entry in the franchise since the last release back in 2008 on the Nintendo DS. The subsequent release of Metal Slug XX in 2009, followed by a decade later on PS4 and PC, kept the flame alive for fans of the series.

ARIKA, the developer partner in this collaboration, is no stranger to creating exceptional gaming experiences. Known for titles like Endless Ocean Luminous and Chocobo GP, they have also worked on popular games like Super Mario Bros. 35 and Pac-Man 99. Additionally, ARIKA has provided support for acclaimed titles such as Tekken 7 and Tekken 8.

It's interesting to note that SNK is now predominantly owned by Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who acquired nearly all of the company in 2022 through his Electronic Gaming Development Company. This acquisition has paved the way for exciting new developments and partnerships within the gaming industry.
