Bandai Namco has officially announced the upcoming launch of Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs on PC and consoles, set to release on May 9th. The game, a battle royale spin on the classic Pac-Man IP, will support up to 64 players at once and will be available on various platforms including Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch.

Pre-orders are now open for the game, with a Deluxe Edition offering additional content like the Lunar Animals Pac and Namco Pals Pac, catering to arcade fans with some nostalgic fan service. Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will also have early access to the game starting on May 2nd, a full week before the official launch date.

Initially a Google Stadia exclusive title, Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle was left in limbo after the shutdown of Stadia in 2023. However, with the recent announcement of its release date, fans of the multiplayer Pac-Man experience can finally look forward to diving into the battle royale mayhem.

PlayStation has provided further details about the game, confirming cross-play support between PlayStation 4 and 5 to ensure active lobbies and engaging gameplay experiences for players across different platforms.

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs represents a glimmer of hope for gaming titles that were once exclusive to Stadia, hinting at the possibility of other lost gems finding new life on alternative platforms in the future.
