If you're a fan of Final Fantasy 16, get ready to mark your calendars for April 18th because Square Enix has just announced that The Rising Tide DLC will be released on that day. The DLC will be available for purchase at $19.99 USD, offering players a new and exciting expansion to the main game.

The announcement was made during a recent showcase at PAX East 2024, where producer Naoki Yoshida, DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka, and Localization Director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox took the stage to reveal details about the upcoming content. Fans were treated to new footage of The Rising Tide, showcasing new heroes, Tonberries, a boss fight, Leviathan abilities, and the new area Mysidia.

One of the highlights of the DLC is the introduction of the "Kairos Gate", which offers 20 stages of escalating battles for players to conquer. However, to unlock this new End Game content, players will need to complete both the main game and The Rising Tide DLC.

The Rising Tide follows up on the Echoes of the Fallen DLC, adding fresh chapters that expand on the story of the main game. Players can expect new allies like Shula to join Clive in battle as they embark on a mission to rescue the Dominant of Leviathan in the hidden land of Mysidia.

For fans eagerly awaiting news on the PC version of Final Fantasy 16, producer Naoki Yoshida has shared that the game is in its final stages of optimization. A demo for the PC version is also in the works and is set to be released in the near future, offering players a taste of what's to come.

In addition to The Rising Tide DLC, Square Enix has also announced a free update for the base game, featuring quality of life improvements and 40 new Orchestrion rolls. With all these exciting developments on the horizon, it's an exciting time to be a fan of Final Fantasy 16.
