The Embracer Group recently announced in it's fourth quarter and full-year fiscal report for 2024, that Dead Island 2 has surpassed the three million units sold milestone. This zombie-themed action game, which was released on April 21st, 2023, has been a long time coming, with a history of delays, developer changes, and reboots.

By May of the same year, Dead Island 2 had already hit the two million sales mark, showcasing its popularity among gamers. The game's arrival on Game Pass on February 22nd further boosted its player base, with over seven million players diving into the zombie-infested world.

The recent release of the second paid expansion, SoLA, has added more content for players to enjoy. However, the development team has hinted at additional updates in the pipeline, promising more excitement in the months to come.

Rumors suggest that one of the upcoming updates could introduce a new survival-based mode called Neighborhood Watch, featuring escalating waves of enemies to test players' skills. Fans have also been clamoring for a New Game Plus mode since the game's launch, and it seems like their wishes might soon be granted.

As Dead Island 2 continues to evolve and expand, players can look forward to more thrilling content and challenges. Whether you're slaying zombies on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, or PC, the game promises an adrenaline-pumping experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
